Justin Rideout is a builder by trade and a furniture maker by choice. Born in Portland, Oregon in 1968, Justin learned the carpentry trade from his father. Furniture making was a craft he taught himself. To create his pieces, Justin uses reclaimed wood -- primarily Douglas Fir. There is a raw beauty to his work, each piece with its own texture and history. His lines are modern and sleek, yet still retain the rustic warmth of folk art. Each piece is unique and hand crafted in his shop in Northwest Portland. Though Justin has traveled back and forth across the United States, he has returned to Portland to build his home.
